Two additions to the range of Casio G-Shock watches will be released this year. Casio Japan has announced that is will be supporting the Red Bull Air Race World Championship with the launching of the new G-Shock GW-3000 .The three new GW-3000 G-Shock models will be available on the market, in Japan, towards the end of this month (February, 2010).

Designed to fit the needs of pilots, the new G-Shock GW-3000 watch series has already received ISO2669 certification (environmental tests for aircraft equipment and steady-state acceleration). While this fact makes it a suitable watch for its target market of aviators, the GW-3000 series has many other extra features.

Like all G-Shock watches, the new series are waterproof and shock resistant. They also have a ‘tough solar function’, meaning that the watches can recharge when exposed to light. All three models are analog watches ((set themselves via radio) and feature Multiband 6 atomic synchronization (time calibration signals from six stations in Japan, the U.S., Germany, China and the U.K.) and they can display 29 world time cities.

The beautifully designed watch will be available in three models: GW-3000D (silver and metal), GW-3000B (black and orange) and GW-3000BD (black and blue). The face design of these watches, which are larger than the recent G-7900 models, appears to be inspired by the gauges in the cockpit. The watch has a urethane bezel for protection and the wrist band is plastic for the GW-3000B and GW-3000BD models and stainless steel for the GW-3000D model. Prices will range from about $375 (GW-3000B) to $530 (GW-3000BD). As stated above, the Casio GW-3000 G-Shock models will be available very soon in Japan. There is no word as yet as to when they will be available outside of that country.

If you live in the U.S., however, you should not feel left out. The second 2010 addition to Casio’s G-Shock watch range was announced by Casio America, Inc. and it most certainly will be available in the US market. The new Eco-Baby-G BGR300-3 will be released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and it will be available in the U.S. in March.

This latest addition to Casio’s Baby G watch series also features Tough Solar Technology, which means there should be no need to change the watch’s batteries. This will help to reduce toxic contamination by heavy metals in landfills that results from discarded watch batteries. The watch comes in an eco-friendly vivid green color with white letters and controls and has a silver aluminum bezel. Not only that, but you’ll be happy to know that the Eco-Baby-G BGR300-3 will be packaged in a 100% recyclable box.

Well, it IS less expensive than the G-Shock GW-3000 (suggested retail price is $110) – and vibrant colors are in this spring .
